Tool Time With Darrell
Tool Life Of Catalysis 3D Printed Tooling

In this episode of ‘Tool Time With Darrell’, President & CEO Darrell Stafford is discussing a question that we get asked often, regarding the amount of parts that can be formed off of our 3D printed tools. He talks about our tools being 100% isotropic in strength, so there are no delamination issues, resulting in longer tool life (unlike other 3D printing technologies).

  • Our 3D printed tools are 100% isotropic in strength (same strength in X, Y, Z direction)

  • We have never had a delamination issue on any of our tools

  • Other 3D printing technologies (like plastic 3D printing) are not isotropic in strength

  • You will have delamination in the Z direction after being in contact with the heat while thermoforming
