NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) Part Manufacturing With Compression Forming Tooling
Additive manufacturing has completely changed the way manufacturers – and OEMs – view tooling in terms of production time, cost and quality. When compared to traditional metal tooling, Catalysis can 3D print tooling in half the time for half the cost while maintaining the same level of quality. Not only that, but 3D printing allows for the design of more complex tooling or low-to-medium volume production parts, removing constraints inhibited by traditional tooling design.
Benefits Of Catalysis Compression Forming Tooling
Compression molds for NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) barrier materials are used to reduce noise & vibration. The compression forming process is high force with a press, using 2 tools + heated material. Catalysis 3D printed NVH part manufacturing compression tooling has 85D scale hardness and the strength required for 20-40 tons of force in the manufacturing process.

- Catalysis proprietary coating does not react with NVH sound deadening material
- Tooling has capability to produce 1000’s of parts
- Can be thermally conditioned with copper water lines
- Capable of withstanding high loads of force on a hydraulic press
