We reverse engineered a ren wood tool to make a 3D printed tool
Customer came to us with this ren wood tool that has:
- Clear delamination
- 2 parts needed to be glued back together
- Gaps in some places after usage
It’s important to understand that while this typical thermoforming tool works & will make parts, it starts falling apart and reaches the end of life fairly quickly.
We reverse engineered the ren wood tool with laser scanning and used that data to create a 3D printed tool
- Allows for 1000’s of parts to be formed
- No delamination of the tool
- Longer tool life
